What I'm Reading - Non-Fiction

130920_READ It's nearing 11:00pm on a weeknight. The house is quiet and dark. My husbands reviewing the latest sports updates on his iPad and I'm tucked under the covers plowing through this book. As I'm nearing the last chapter my night takes a turn and I soon find myself sobbing uncontrollably for the events that are unfolding. The beloved characters lives are forever changing and I just.can't.handle it. I've become so invested in their lives, their witty conversations, and tough life experiences that I cannot imagine the magnitude of the change they're experiencing.

My husband at this point turns away from his reading and asks with a concerned look, "did I do something wrong?  Are you okay?." I respond in between sobs and try to share all that's just happened, but since it's just a muddle of words between tears I stop and tell him he just has to read it to understand.

That my friends is the sign of a good book. That is exactly why I love reading so very much (I promise you won't find me sobbing after every book). And that is why I love to share what I'm reading here on BecomingBryn.

My hope is that you'll find books that tug at your emotions, that take you to far away places, or leave you laughing into the night.
