Winter causes us to move inward. Physically we cozy into our homes; lighting candles, laying out flannel throws, and filling our bellies with warm stews and comfort foods. It's a nesting time of sorts. I actually really enjoy these months. Maybe it's the introvert in me that loves the alone and isolation. Regardless, I truly enjoy the ever evolving seasons and the way they change and mold our patterns and habits. March introduces something entirely different then February. March brings with it regrowth and regeneration. The snow will soon melt and in its place will be rain showers and many muddy lawns. And I love every speck of mud there will be. With rain showers and muddy lawns comes flowers, budding trees, and glossy green yards. New life springs forth this month and in the months to come.
In honor of this new month, a month of regrowth and regeneration, I'm sharing the Spaces + Pieces that are adding inspiration to my days and a little color to the thawing days of March. Enjoy!
The always inspiring ladies at A Beautiful Mess reminded me that during this transitional season, we can bring nature indoors. Now, I've been known to kill almost any plant I've ever owned, but I'm looking to give it a go this month and add some plant life to our apartment. I also recently discovered this beautiful Vintage Scandinavian shop Luola ("cave" in finnish). Jessyca Burke curates and stocks the shop with one of kind vintage pieces and sells them for incredibly reasonable prices. Some of my favorites are this Gold Tone Desk Lamp and this stunning Swedish Plate.
I've already jumped on this one, but I am all about the maps these days. Maybe all the time indoors has me itching for new adventures. So far we've picked out this Milwaukee Map and this amazing World Map. Now where will we go in 2014? And as we go, this would be my outfit of choice. A tastefully worn sweater, dark jeans, and the delightfully stylish yet comfortable Ked style shoes. This may be my uniform for spring.
Now it's your turn:
