Gifts That Give All Year (And beyond)

There are some truly lovely and thoughtfully curated gift guides on the web recently. Some of my favorites (if you're in need of ideas) are made by Lindsey, Naomi, and Hayley

On my own list I've been dreaming up pieces that are timeless, inspiring, and are crafted with a quality that will extend their functionality and use far beyond 2015. Pieces that build into not just the external but the internal parts of our lives too. And pieces that support companies I adore for their mission and values. Any of these would be lovely to gift to a girlfriend, sister, or mom.

Gifts That Keep Giving

// Knitted Beanie - A classic outerwear accessory.

// The Kinfolk Table: Recipes for Small Gatherings - This beautiful cookbook reads more like a memoir; a collection of recipes, people, and stories from around the world. Part cookbook, part narrative, part international adventure. It's also lovely enough to be your next coffee table book.

// Alpine Socks - A cozy pair of socks in delightful patterns. They'd pair perfectly with a pair of ankle boots or layered over leggings.

// Trouve Magazine - Being relatively new to Trouve, they've definitely peaked my interest in the past six months. Trouvé is a magazine that celebrates creativity. Their pages document stories of found creativity, passion and hard work; giving tips, inspiration, & thoughts along the way. Right now you can gift both Volume 1 & 2 for just $25.00!

// Plaid Throw Blankets - Because one can never have too many blankets around the home.

// Deeply Rooted Magazine - I am personally thankful for the men and women that started and continue to produce this publication. It continues to inspire and speak truth into the very real moments of life. If you're unfamiliar here's just a glimpse of their mission, "Deeply Rooted exists to encourage, educate, and inspire Christ-following women into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ so they may become deeply rooted in their faith."

// Everlane Chunky Knit Collection - A timeless sweater, made from 100% extrafine Merino wool, by a company that encourages transparency through every part of the process. This is my "splurge" item, but one I know would transcend many winters to come.

// The Creative Habit, A Book - I've held my library copy for far too long and it's time to purchase my own copy. For the creative this book is it.

// Fashionable Alem Scarf - Another incredible company I stand firmly behind. This particular scarf is handwoven in Ethiopia and made of 100% cotton.

// Noonday Jewelry - I would be remiss not to mention one last outstanding company. Noonday uses fashion and design to create economic opportunity for the vulnerable. They partner with artisans across the developing world, empowering individuals to grow sustainable businesses. The jewelry is lovely, but the mission is the reason I choose to purchase their products.
