Bray Ruby at Four Months

Four months old! As of March 20th, Miss Bray Ruby passed the four month mark and our little family of three seems to be settling into a pretty fun rhythm.

Bray has become so much more expressive in the past month. In early March, she delighted both mom and dad with her first giggles. She finds daddy's facial hair to be particularly funny (and to this day it continues to get some of her best laughs). Mornings have quickly become one of our favorite times of day with Bray. For two parents who love their sleep, you'll often find us both peeking into Bray's room for those early morning smiles and squeals. She truly is a joyful little lady.

While joyful for 90-percent of her life, Bray also has a sweet way of letting you know when she is entirely overwhelmed with new people and surroundings. We had a few hard days away from home this month, but she rallied and remained flexible through all the changing schedules and locations. We're so curious to witness her personality continue to unfold - will she be an introvert or extrovert? cautious and hesitant around new people and places? excited to explore? silly or serious?

In terms of favorites, Bray loves her dragonfly toy over almost any other toy offered, enjoys reading books before bed and only wants to turn the pages herself, and has just started to show interest in spending more time sitting up (with support) than lying on her playmat. We still refer to her as our ultimate lounger, because boy does this girl know how to kick-back and relax (she has absolutely zero interest in rolling over or putting weight on those cute, chubby legs of hers). She also has settled into a more consistent nap routine in the past month, napping roughly three times per day and sleeping (mostly) through the night (making mom and dad SO happy).

The biggest development for the whole family has been our newly implemented bedtime routine. It has truly made all the difference for our entire family - we thrive within routines and rhythms. Bedtime now starts around 6:15/30pm with lotion, jammies, books, milk and a little extra time for snuggles. By 7:00pm, Bray is settling into her crib for the night and Guy and I have some time together for dinner, catching up on our days, and currently, indulging in a good documentary with popcorn.

We love this sweet girl the Lord has blessed our lives with and with each passing month we continue to say this is the best month yet!
